Steven Gerrard

Steven Gerrard is a central midfielder, sometimes played as a winger or second striker. He is born and bred in Liverpool and made his senior debut for Liverpool F.C. in November 1998, at the age of 18. He joined the Liverpool youth academy already as a 9 year old. Gerrard became the Liverpool captain in October 2003. He made his debut for England in May 2000 and has also served as captain and vice-captain for the national side. Gerrard has built himself a huge reputation both as a star player and leader. He is perhaps the one both his club and national side have counted on the most to lead through tough times.
