Nani

Nani is a right winger who plays for English side Manchester United and the Portuguese national team. As a teenager Nani joined the youth squad at his favourite team Sporting Clube de Portugal (commonly called Sporting Lisbon). He played two seasons in Sporting’s first team before signing for Manchester United in July 2007. During his time in Sporting he was picked for Portugal U-21 team and shortly after also for their first team. At Manchester United he joined up with his Portugal team-mate Ronaldo (whom later left for Real Madrid). After initial success at Manchester United Nani had his share of struggles with injuries and being unhappy with manager Sir Alex Ferguson. During the 2009/10 season he managed to sort out his differences with the manager and gradually Nani started to shine again on the pitch. In March 2010 he signed a new 4-year contract with the club. Nani has also stepped up for his national side, delivering performances equal to those of Ronaldo.
