Ryan Giggs

Ryan Giggs is a left winger who plays for English side Manchester United. He has also been capped 64 times for Wales. Giggs moved from Wales to Manchester as a kid and played for a local team, though he was signed under the Manchester City umbrella as a twelve year old. He was also noticed by Manchester United scouts and on Giggs’ 14th birthday Alex Ferguson himself came to his home, with the United scout, and signed him for Manchester United. Three years later, in the 1990-91 season, Giggs signed a professional contract and soon after made his debut for Manchester United’s first team. Ferguson had finally found his new left winger and the comparisons with George Best became a standard feature for the young Giggs.
Giggs is the player who has appeared most times in all competitions for Manchester United. He has been a key player in Manchester United winning a staggering 11 Premier League titles, 4 FA Cups, 3 League Cups and 2 UEFA Champions League titles. Giggs was Young Player of the Year in English football twice and in 2009 Player of the Year. He has also been awarded an OBE for his services to football.
