Daniel Sturridge is a striker who plays for English side Chelsea. He has also represented England at youth level. Born and bred in England’s second largest city, Birmingham, Sturridge first played in Aston Villa’s youth squad. As a 13 year old he spent a season with Coventry City before joining Manchester City’s youth academy. At age 17 he made his first team debut in February 2007. At the end of the 2008–09 season Sturridge was named as the club’s Young Player of the Season. Shortly after he left City to sign a four year contract with Chelsea. His first season with the London club saw them winning the double, with Sturridge as their top scorer in the FA Cup campaign.
