Robin van Persie

Robin van Persie is a striker who plays for English side Arsenal and the Dutch national team. Van Persie joined Feyenoord of Rotterdam as a sixteen year old and made his debut at seventeen. There was never any doubt about the talents he possessed but a very strained relationship with manager Bert van Marwijck ruined his time at Feyenoord. In May 2004 Van Persie signed for Arsenal, where he quickly became a favourite amongst fans. Despite struggling with several injuries he has scored plenty of goals for the club, many of them in spectacular fashion. At the start of the 2010/11 season Van Persie has 51 appearences for Netherlands. He has scored 19 goals for his national side, the latest in the 2010 FIFA World Cup where Netherlands were runners-up.

Edwin Van Der Sar

Edwin van der Sar is a goalkeeper who just retired after the 2011 Champions League final, playing for English side Manchester United. He is also the most capped player to have played for Netherlands’ national team. Van der Sar played nine years for Ajax, winning the Eredivisie 4 times, the Dutch Cup 3 times, the 1992 UEFA Cup and the 1995 UEFA Champions League. In 1999 he moved to Italian side Juventus and played two seasons there. When he lost his number one spot to Gianluigi Buffon he made a move to Fulham in England. After four seasons at Craven Cottage Van der Sar signed for Manchester United in June 2005. With Manchester United Van der Sar has won 4 Premier League titles, 1 League Cup and the 2008 UEFA Champions League.
Van der Sar decided to retire from his national side after the 2008 UEFA European Championship. However he stepped in to play two matches more, in October 2008, when Netherlands had an injury crisis ahead of two qualifying matches for the 2010 FIFA World Championship.
